It lies in the northeastern part of Hunan. With an area of 15,000 square kilometers and a population of 5.3 million, it consists of four districts (Yuanyanglou, Junshan, Yunxi, Quqyuan), two cities (Linxiang, Miluo) and four counties(Huarong, Yueyang, Pingjiang, Xiangyin).
